“I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.” – Mother Teresa
18 months ago, there was a “War for talent” Employers were having to be creative in their recruitment processes to attract the very best to their roles. Fast forward and the market turned on its head and there appears to be plentiful candidates looking for work. Previously time to hire was critical attracting suitable candidates, engaging and securing them as quick as possible and agencies were well placed to support clients in doing this. Some employers may believe that the candidate rich market we are currently in alleviates the need to partner with a recruitment agency, but I disagree for two main reasons.
1. Time to hire is still important, there will still be a skill shortage across some disciplines and business critical roles will be more time critical than ever before. The number of applications an employer can expect to receive for each advert and the administration involved is hugely time consuming and thus costly. Agencies are highly skilled at shortlisting the top candidates for each role and contacting them to ascertain their legitimate interest, availability, expectations etc.
2. Quality of hire has never been more important with many companies making strategic appointments rather than just backfilling open seats. Companies are using the opportunity to upskill roles and the candidates recruited in 2021 will be vital to the survival/growth/development of the business. BeAassured believe recruitment is a partnership between the company, the candidate, and the agency (representing the company brand and the best of interests of the candidate). We pride ourselves on listening to our clients needs and recruiting not only on skill set but also emotional intelligence and cultural fit ensuring a long-term business partnership for all involved.
