“Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return.” Ralph Marston.
I learnt a lot of lessons when I met with a Business Coach several years ago but the thing that stuck with me the most was the power of a thank you. I consider this daily, whether it is thanking my husband for making dinner (every night), thanking a waitress for looking after us, or thanking a receptionist for taking care to pass my message on.
I take nothing for granted if a client takes time to meet with me, a candidate recommends me to someone else also looking for work or if a colleague makes me a coffee for the third time in a row, no other word other than thank you is right. A heartfelt “Thank you” is honest, its real and cannot be faked you can tell when someone is genuinely thankful, and you remember them.
We have all been reminded about the importance of a thank you with the recent clap for carers/clap for heroes’ campaigns giving us the opportunity to thank the efforts those keeping us safe.
I thank you all for your support and will be thankful for every opportunity.
